The Physical is but a shadow of the Spiritual

Psalm 49:20 (KJV) states, "Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish." 

The Amplified Bible translates it as, "A man [who is held] in honor, Yet who lacks [spiritual] understanding... is like the beasts that perish." 

This verse conveys a profound message about the importance of spiritual understanding.

The verse contrasts a person who appears honorable and respected (possibly due to wealth, status, or achievements) with someone who lacks spiritual intelligence (SQ). 

Despite outward success, this individual is compared to animals that perish, implying a lack of TRUE ESSENCE.

The phrase "lacks spiritual understanding" (SQ) suggests that this person may be intellectually intelligent but lacks insight into the deeper aspects of life, specifically the spiritual dimension of living. 

The folly of accomplishments prevents one from seeking a higher form of living.

The comparison to "beasts that perish" is striking. Beasts, in this context, represent creatures driven solely by instinct and earthly desires. 

The phrase "that perish" implies a life without true significance, a life lived in a merely earthly and animalistic way.

In essence, the passage warns that:

- Outward success and honor are not guarantees of true fulfillment.

- Intellectual intelligence and worldly wisdom are insufficient for purposeful living.

Where is the intersection between the Divine and the human?"

Let's, therefore, SEEK the intersection between Divinity & Humanity: 

May we be inspired to move beyond mundane thinking and living to something far higher than mere beasts (animals)
